The contract was straightforward and all of our numerous change orders were meticulously tracked. Our project took longer than we expected, even with the additional projects accounted for, but we bear the responsibility for some of that. Overall, an extraordinary experience that completely exceeded our expectations. We will be using Dreamscapes again when we renovate the front yard. Our construction project was a complicated & costly major renovation of our backyard + pool + putting green + landscape + irrigation. Add into the mix my husband – he has a Type A personality - planned on being VERY involved in every single detail. Knowing this ahead of time, we did great research, and from that list, narrowed down our interview list to 5 firms. Out of the final five, two never showed up – nor communicated why – for the initial meeting, 1 was such a salesman we didn’t trust him and we were down to the final two. Our choice to go with Dreamscapes was based solely on Joe Lascola’s professionalism. Price wise, Dreamscapes was competitive with the other high end/full service firms we were looking at. When we first met with Joe, he was early to our meeting, prepared with many ideas, prepared to measure & take photos. Joe arranged for me to interview other Dreamscapes clients and one locally invited me to their house to see the work in person! Every meeting from there until we signed to contract was the same professionalism. Joe’s ideas were spot on and he really understands design, function and the need to consult the construction team to ensure that the design can be built. He REALLY listened to what we wanted...

Dreamscapes transformed our entire backyard. Out of 4 pool companies, they were the only ones that were qualified to take on our challenging project. Dreamscapes had the experience and knowledge needed to attack the size and grade of our property. Not only was our backyard a steep slope but a clean slate! All we had were weeds and dirt! We needed someone who had vision but most importantly, someone who could work with the slope. Our project required a pool, a spa, landscaping, hardscape, irrigation and much more. We met with Joe Lascola, the designer. He was perfect for us!

It's been a childhood dream of mine to have a pool in my backyard. I had a vague idea about what I wanted but knew my dream yard had to match what I could afford. Before hiring someone I wanted an idea of what could be done and what the price tag might look like. To my amazement 2 of the 4 companies that I had out to bid the project wanted more than $1,000 before even showing me on paper what could be done. Fortunately for me, Dreamscapes was not one of those companies!! Kirk, from Dreamscapes, came out and did two 2D designs for me before I even settled on using Dreamscapes. Once hired, Kirk created a color 3D design complete with example plants, furniture, etc. Kirk iteratively altered the design until we had a blueprint for the backyard pool and entertainment space that I'd been dreaming about for so long. I was nervous about unexpected costs and how everything was going to turn out, as we had to demo not only the backyard but also the front yard, due to the layout access to my backyard. Dreamscapes, both Kirk and my project manager, Diego, reassured me all the way through the process. Kirk helped me pick beautiful materials that didn't completely break the budget. The Dreamscapes staff were incredibly talented, very polite, super helpful, and Diego kept the project moving quickly. The masons and glass tile specialists that they have are superb (thanks Juan and crew), as are their landscape architects; Rogelio, Santiago and crew, helped so much with those beautiful finishing touches. In the end, we had a pool with infinity spa, a travertine paver patio, lattice patio cover, fire feature and bbq island put into the back yard. The front yard was spruced up too...

I had the pleasure of hiring Dreamscapes to complete a large outside house project. This included new pavers, IPE deck, Pergola, spa, and many other items. Dreamscapes and Eric MacRae came highly recommended so we met to discuss design. Within one hour of meeting him, we decided that we would use his Company for our project. We typically meet with several contractors before making a decision, especially one of this magnitude. But, Eric made us feel confident that this was the right decision. Eric is an incredibly calm, fair and creative person. Here are the reasons why Dreamscapes, Eric and Gabe "Project Manager" are the right choice for anyone's outside remodel. Eric came to the table with ideas that she had not thought of, which is no small feat. Furthermore, he was able to translate our vision into a drawing, while "correcting" any design elements that we had that did not fit in the overall project. Eric, Gabe and their team work like a well-oiled machine. I was pleasantly surprised at how little "collateral damage" there was in a project of this size. Furthermore, we were met with many obstacles and challenges. There wasn't one single problem Gabe could not overcome by using decades of experience. I am the owner of a 16 unit apartment complex here in Mission Viejo. We have a pool here ever since we purchased the property in 2008. However, it was never used and gotten quite dilapidated. The tile started to chip away and the flooring was becoming powdery from exposure to the weather. A friend of ours had used Dreamscapes to build the pool at their home so we gave them a call to see if they could help. They initially came out for the estimate and gave us some great ideas that would bring the recreational area to life. They proposed some cost effective landscaping to accent the pool that gave the place a whole new look. All the tiling was redone, inlets and outlets were replaced, and they even removed the awful diving board. The project was completed last Friday and our tenants there can't stop giving us compliments. I've never seen so many of our tenants out and about as I did this past weekend. Dreamscapes by MGR is a quality, high-end design/build company. You get what you pay for--expensive, but well worth it knowing that it was done correctly, from irrigation to electrical to drainage, proper grading, etc. not to mention the beautiful finished product. My first project with them several years ago was nothing extravagant or large scale, but Kirk (just so happens to have the same first name) designed a phenomenal front and backyard for us and the quality of workmanship was superb. They were knowledgeable, attentive, responsive, considerate of our neighbors, friendly, and professional. I must add that one of the senior city inspectors lived down the street from us, and he made it a point to tell us that Dreamscapes is one of the best that he sees when doing inspections--if that isn't an endorsement, I don't know what is. 4 years later and in a new home, I have asked Kirk to come back without hesitation (simply gave him a call directly on his cell phone)--and yes he is still with the company which also says a lot. His design rendering of what my wife and I discussed with him was absolutely spot on and stunning, no surprise. While the cost is a bit out of reach considering we just bought a brand new home with upgrades, furniture, etc., Kirk is working with us to build a beautiful, functional, front and back yard, with the end goal rendering in mind. He is putting together the items we should/need to do now to fit our future plans and eliminate redundancies/waste when we finish the project down the road. If you want true superb quality all the way around and understand the concept of you pay for what you get, meet with Kirk at Dreamscapes by MGR.

Diego and his crew are great! This is our second time working with them and we have been very happy with the results both times. They deliver great looking results (and always clean everything up when they are done so it looks perfect). They come to work just as scheduled and treat our yard with respect. On this project, they encountered an unexpected problem with our drainage system which was not their fault, they came up with a good creative solution and went right to work executing it. Did it add to the cost? Of course, but that is the nature of house renovation projects. If you want first class done right the first time, these are your guys.

My husband and I just finished a major backyard remodel with Dreamscapes. We demolished everything in our yard and Dreamscapes built an unimaginable oasis that far exceeded our expectations. When we set out to begin our project, we were extremely skeptical because we had been through the process four years prior at our previous home. I will not mention the company by name, but everything about working with them was AWFUL. So we decided this time, we would do our homework and look into the reviews of possible companies. Right from the start, we thought Dreamscapes were a good fit. We had Joe as our designer and he was amazing. He REALLY seemed to care that our job was thoroughly planned and cohesive across all parts, sometimes more than we did! As far as the bid went, we knew what to expect and also knew that Dreamscapes wouldn't be the cheapest. After going through this process with the cheapest company before, we learned that you truly get what you pay for. We were pleasantly surprised that they weren't as expensive as we thought, for their quality of work. In the end, we paid exactly what they bid, with only one change order of minor enhancements that was completely our doing. We built a pool and spa with rock waterfall feature and rock slide dug into a hillside, an outdoor kitchen with covered roof, a fireplace, outdoor media system, terraced hillside for crops and fruit trees, and complete landscaping. We knew it would be a lengthy project. Dreamscapes did everything from the sprinklers to the lighting fixtures. We only hired outside companies for the electronics and gates, which Dreamscapes doesn't handle. They said it would take about 5 months. It took exactly 5 months. They had a crew there 6 days...

Dreamscapes did an amazing job of transforming my backyard. When we bought the house it was a patch of bare dirt. They worked with us every step of the way teaching us about design and materials as we went so that we could make better informed choices. I can't decide which is my favorite part. I love the giant pots. They have hidden built in irrigation coming up from the ground into the bottom of the pots. I don't have to see any hoses or tubes and I also don't have to worry about going out with a watering can or hiring someone when I go out of town, it is all on a timer. Very low maintenance. The water wall looks amazing and the sound is very relaxing. It is also on a timer so I don't have to worry about switching it on and off or cycling the water through to keep it clean. Another way they made the yard look great while keeping it low maintenance. The feature I use the least but enjoy the most is the fire table. When we have guests over it is so nice to sit outside around the fire and talk. I don't know why having a fire makes the conversation better but it always seems like it does. My wife and I both have crazy travel schedules but they worked with us and were able to send us pictures or videos to help us make choices and were also willing to pause the project til we got home if there was something we wanted to see for ourselves. I've worked with lots of contractors on lots of projects and Dreamscapes customer service is top notch.

We look out on our pool everyday and are so incredibly happy! It has been about 7 months or so since we completed our project with Dreamscapes by MGR. We did our homework and got a few bids from different companies. We were most impressed with Dreamscapes. Eric really listened to what we wanted and came up with a beautiful design for our smaller backyard. We constantly have people over who comment how beautiful it turned out. Once we got started with the project, they also completed the job within the committed time frame. They really do quality work. I guess the best review I can give is we would absolutely recommend them and use them again.
