Apartment complex pool remodel

I am the owner of a 16 unit apartment complex here in Mission Viejo. We have a pool here ever since we purchased the property in 2008. However, it was never used and gotten quite dilapidated. The tile started to chip away and the flooring was becoming powdery from exposure to the weather. A friend of ours had used Dreamscapes to build the pool at their home so we gave them a call to see if they could help. They initially came out for the estimate and gave us some great ideas that would bring the recreational area to life. They proposed some cost-effective landscaping to accent the pool that gave the place a whole new look. All the tiling was redone, inlets and outlets were replaced, and they even removed the awful diving board. The project was completed last Friday and our tenants there can't stop giving us compliments. I've never seen so many of our tenants out and about as I did this past weekend. Great job Dreamscapes, keep up the good work!

The contract was straightforward and all of our numerous change orders were meticulously tracked. Our project took longer than we expected, even with the additional projects accounted for, but we bear the responsibility for some of that. Overall, an extraordinary experience that completely exceeded our expectations. We will be using Dreamscapes again when we renovate the front yard. Our construction project was a complicated & costly major renovation of our backyard + pool + putting green + landscape + irrigation. Add into the mix my husband – he has a Type A personality - planned on being VERY involved in every single detail. Knowing this ahead of time, we did great research, and from that list, narrowed down our interview list to 5 firms. Out of the final five, two never showed up – nor communicated why – for the initial meeting, 1 was such a salesman we didn’t trust him and we were down to the final two. Our choice to go with Dreamscapes was based solely on Joe Lascola’s professionalism. Price wise, Dreamscapes was competitive with the other high end/full service firms we were looking at. When we first met with Joe, he was early to our meeting, prepared with many ideas, prepared to measure & take photos. Joe arranged for me to interview other Dreamscapes clients and one locally invited me to their house to see the work in person! Every meeting from there until we signed to contract was the same professionalism. Joe’s ideas were spot on and he really understands design, function and the need to consult the construction team to ensure that the design can be built. He REALLY listened to what we wanted...

I live in a new development in Irvine which required us to build our front and back yard from scratch. We were introduced to Dreamscapes by our architect as a high end contractor consider for our project. My experience with Eric and Diego in the year has been extremely positive and I'm glad we ended up selecting Dreamscapes for our project. I've made a few remarks for others to consider in pursuit of their landscaping services. Design - Our backyard was designed by an architect, and in general, we did not have to lean on Dreamscapes on the front end design. However, we often had design questions and suggestions that we would discuss with Eric. He gave us practical insight on how our ideas would work. This was invaluable. He also did an excellent job keeping an active line of communication with our architect to make sure everyone was on the same page. Permits - Living in Irvine means that one has to become very comfortable with strict city rules. And of course, there's association rules. Eric and Diego did a great job navigating these choppy waters. There were a few instances where I specifically recall wanting to make a design change and had Eric remind me that it would be an issue down the line with the city or association. This is a very important note to keep in mind. There are contractors that will follow everything you ask them to. That's great, but it's also important that your contractor understands the unique circumstances surrounding your project to help avoid re-work (more $$$). Costs and Change Orders - I'm glad to say that the Dreamscapes team was able to build our project according to our proposed budget. Of course, we made a number of design changes on the fly...

Kirk and Jim are phenomenal! Great people, easy to work with and we love the final product! Thank you for our dream backyard! Kirk took our needs and rough ideas and turned it into a very functional layout that really opened-up our backyard. The built-in seating, countertops, storage for drink trays, refrigerator, and commercial ice machine make set-up for parties so much easier than lugging chairs, tables and drink bins from the garage...not to mention no more day-of ice runs to the grocery store. The materials make it seem like we like in a resort and it's virtually maintenance free. Our backyard was nice to begin with, so we were on the fence, but are now so glad we did. Our family is going to enjoy this for decades to come!

Dreamscapes did an amazing job of transforming my backyard. When we bought the house it was a patch of bare dirt. They worked with us every step of the way teaching us about design and materials as we went so that we could make better informed choices. I can't decide which is my favorite part. I love the giant pots. They have hidden built in irrigation coming up from the ground into the bottom of the pots. I don't have to see any hoses or tubes and I also don't have to worry about going out with a watering can or hiring someone when I go out of town, it is all on a timer. Very low maintenance. The water wall looks amazing and the sound is very relaxing. It is also on a timer so I don't have to worry about switching it on and off or cycling the water through to keep it clean. Another way they made the yard look great while keeping it low maintenance. The feature I use the least but enjoy the most is the fire table. When we have guests over it is so nice to sit outside around the fire and talk. I don't know why having a fire makes the conversation better but it always seems like it does. My wife and I both have crazy travel schedules but they worked with us and were able to send us pictures or videos to help us make choices and were also willing to pause the project til we got home if there was something we wanted to see for ourselves. I've worked with lots of contractors on lots of projects and Dreamscapes customer service is top notch.

Diego and his crew are great! This is our second time working with them and we have been very happy with the results both times. They deliver great looking results (and always clean everything up when they are done so it looks perfect). They come to work just as scheduled and treat our yard with respect. On this project, they encountered an unexpected problem with our drainage system which was not their fault, they came up with a good creative solution and went right to work executing it. Did it add to the cost? Of course, but that is the nature of house renovation projects. If you want first class done right the first time, these are your guys.
